He had changed all fluids so I couldn't tell how bad and I guess he never started it again. Brownihs/tannish soot/dirt/crap all over lower end of bike and inside pipes.Again with starter cable removed: 1. On fuel pump side of the harness still plugged in, push red meter probe into connector to touch pin with black/yellow wire, black meter lead to touch green pin. 2. Key on, push starter button, should get 12v. and pump should run. Like.You need to check the voltage at the fan when the coolant is cold and when its hot, and. you need to check the resistance of the temp sensor with cold and hot coolant. Might have a open in the wiring, but then you say the fan runs when the sensor is disconnected which confuses me. 1995 en500 stock with windshield - 40,000 miles.Don't replace your lash adjusters, fix them. I have 05 Vulcan 2000. At 60,000 miles my adjusters started getting noisy. Oil change helped for awhile. Auto parts oil additives helped for awhile. Normally, you can start in gear if the clutch is pulled in. There is a switch on the clutch handle that looks after this. Could be out of adjustment, dirty, no good, etc. Give it a looksee. IT seems that the orignal owner had cobra pipes put on the bike and he basically left only 1 inch of the baffle in there ( pulled it today and measured it ).

There's a linkage-mounted shock hiding underneath the hard-tail looking swingarm, with four inches of travel,and an also nicely damped 41mm fork. Along with the fat tires and a thick, nicely supportive seat, the Vulcan gives up a surprisingly suave ride.
