Well, I took the plunge and ordered a LRB receiver James River Armory M14. I happened to be in Baltimore so I called JRA and stopped by before ordering. They were very generous with their time and I learned a lot about the M14. While there is a great deal left for me to learn, I feel great about the purchase. Well, he's partially right. Bula is the only producer of PRESS FORGED M14 receivers. LRB is the only producer of HAMMER FORGED receivers. I bought the rifle from SARCO for $900.00; fully assembled and head spaced. This is a cast receiver made by James River and looks to be cleanly milled and fits the stock tightly.
